3. May I use DCU artwork at my board?
Though we're flattered that you like the artwork, we ask that none of it is taken from DCU unless specified by the creator. This goes for any signatures, avatars, banners, backgrounds, emoticons, gradients, icons, buttons, art posted in a thread, etc. Action will be taken if artwork is used without permission.

4. The character I want to play isn't on any list! What do I do?Tell us about it immediately! So the list wouldn't be too long, we pulled DC character names from the top of our heads. Please note that some characters aren't listed because they don't fit into our board timeline or they are unique so they aren't playable.

7. I would like to be on staff. What do I do?
Though we appreciate you want to help out, the current staff like to hand pick potential new members ourselves. We consider many things before deciding who to add to the team: commitment to the board, good RPing skills, contributions to community threads, and overall friendly personality.
Don't worry about coming to us. We'll go to you.

8. I find another member's RPing questionable. What should I do?It depends on the situation. Read the following and act as suggested: - Their grammar/spelling is difficult to understand/read -
Contact a staff member as soon as you notice the problem escalate. If we think the problem is severe, we'll speak with that member personally.
- They are doing a thread/plot/ that is very bizarre -
PM that person and ask them if it's the correct story for the characters involved. If they are set on the thread/story but you still feel uncomfortable with it, tell them (politely) that you are stepping out of the thread/story. If they begin to pester you over the issue (either through PM or cbox), contact a staff member for help.
- They are depicting a character incorrectly -
First of all, consider the situation. If they aren't playing the character like you want to see it played, then you will have to deal with it. We all have different interpretations. Now, if you think that member is RPing extremely out of character, then bring it to the attention of staff. We will then investigate that character and decide what action to take from there.
ALSO: It is very important that you save PMs!!!

9. No one wants to RP with me! What do I do?There are many ways to get attention for your threads. You can speak with other members through the cbox, you can create a thread in the Central Area advertising your open thread or requesting someone to join it OR, and the most effective way, you can PM a member. Just ask politely if they'd like to RP with you! "Open" threads are often overlooked here at DCU because of our size. You may be used to doing it that way at other boards but I tell you out of experience it's tough here for the aforementioned reasons. So your best bet is to PM someone and simply ask. You should PM them with an idea (even a simple one) so you two can hash it out. If you can't think of an idea or you think you lack the creativity, then you need to consider if RPing is for you because it is all about creativity.

10. When does this board take place in relation to DC comics and where can I find information about DCU's current plot? DCU started after the events of Blackest Night and includes all events leading up to that point. Events such as Flashpoint and those included within the DCnU are not a part of our history, nor are the individual events that occurred in those series considered canon here. There are various plots going on at once but the major, site-wide plots normally receive an announcement. There is also the Headlines board that you should check regularly in order to read about the other stories. DCU is currently taking place after Darkest Night; ie. the return of dead heroes and villains alike (Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Jade, Captain Boomerang, Professor Zoom, Maxwell Lord, Osiris, Hawk, Deadman, Firestorm, Hawkman, Hawkgirl).

11. How many teams can my character be on?
Each character may only be on one team only. Characters should only be on teams that they are either canon members of or that it makes sense for them to be on; i.e. Superman should not be trying to join the Teen Titans. Some teams require try-out threads for non-canon members, while others are restricted to canon characters only.

12. I have an idea for a site board plot, can I make a pitch to the staff to make this happen?
Yes, absolutely yes. We encourage all of our members to share any ideas for plots that they may have. The best way to go about doing this is to PM the Presence account with any details and thoughts you have about the plot you are developing. The Staff will then work closely with you to expand on these ideas; as well as omitting, adding, or arranging details that they may view as making for a better plot or either because it clashes with other stories on the board.
